About Me
Amelia Treece is a photographer specializing in a of portraiture, mostly surrounding women and their struggles. Her work uses various aesthetics in order to capture an honest depiction of young women. Through her lens, she aims to challenge the male gaze, using the camera as a tool to explore themes such as identity, struggles and self-expression.
Amelia makes use of both colour and black and white to create an intimate focus onto her subjects, allowing their stories to shine through. She plays around with staged images as well as showcasing skills in candid street scenes. She captures glimpses of women in everyday spaces and within the studio, to create scenes of her own personal visual statement on modern femininity.
Amelia’s aims to use her photography to further understand her own experiences as a woman, while celebrating the strength and diversity of others. Her work invites viewers to look beyond surfaces of beauty and clothing and admire the confidence and beauty of her subjects and the true of nature of what it is to be a woman
